Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) at ESA Living Planet symposium in Bergen, Norway
The ESA Living Planet Symposium is Europes most important symposium for Earth observation satellites and topics related to Environmental Monitoring and climate control. KSAT is daily receiving data from the most important satellites in this program. The ESA satellites GOCE, SMOS, Envisat, ERS and Cryosat are all communication with KSAT Svalbard Ground station. This station is the worlds largest ground station for operation of polar orbiting satellites. More than 9000 contacts are made every month from KSATs installations at Svalbard, in Tromsø, Grimstad and in Antarctica.
The Norwegian Minister for Trade and Industy Mr. Trond Giske opened the seminar. He is seen at the KSAT boot together with Bo Andersen, Director General of Norwegian Space Centre and Rolf Skatteboe, President of KSAT.
