KSAT to provide TanDEM-X LEOP support from Pole to Pole

TanDEM-X is scheduled to be Launched in October 2009, and KSAT is proud to announce that DLR has selected the unique KSAT Pole to Pole ground station concept for the LEOP support. The KSAT Pole to Pole concept includes the best located ground stations available on the market, SvalSat (at 78 degrees North) and TrollSat/Antarctica (at 72 degrees south). These ground stations will provide DLR with possibilities to contact with the satellite every 45 minutes during the LEOP campaign, a unique capability that will assure to DLR a successful LEOP.

KSAT has also signed a frame agreement with DLR and will in the future support several satellites belonging to DLR. The first activity has already started, and SvalSat is now providing support for several passes to DLR for the TerraSAR-X satellite.
