Completion of KSAT TrollSat station
In mid November, KSAT resumed the development of the TrollSat station. Already in February, the plan is to have an operational ground station located at 72 degrees south. A 7,3 m S and X band full motion tracking antenna and two communication antennas will be available to provide services to satellite owners and operators world wide.
The ground station is an integrated part of the KSAT network and will be operated from KSAT TNOC (Tromsø Network Operations Control)
With TrollSat KSAT is establishing a Pole-to-Pole network, offering cost efficient and integrated satellite tracking form both poles, in Antarctica and in the Arctic (Svalbard).
The picture shows the antenna on top of the Nonshøgda Nord hill, overlooking the Norwegian Antarctica station, Troll. Troll will be manned year round from the coming Antarctic winter.
