Ground Station Services

Kongsberg Satellite Services operates two Multi-mission polar ground stations, in Tromsø (Tromsø Station at 69°N) and at Svalbard (SvalSat at 78ºN). Due to the high latitude KSAT offers support for all passes (14 of 14) for polar orbiting satellites.

KSAT is focused on the support of Telemetry, Tracking and Command (TT&C) for all mission phases as well as data acquisition services to owners and operators of Polar Orbiting Satellites. A full list of the ground station services provided by KSAT can be found in the company profile .

Among the clients are organisations such as NASA, ESA, NOAA, IPO, JAXA, ISRO, Orbimage, KARI, EUMETSAT and DigitalGlobe.

The Tromsø Network Operations Centre (TNOC) operates and controls the TT&C antenna systems available in Tromsø and at SvalSat and is responsible for all operations in close co-operation with satellite owners/operators.

KSAT is a flexible service provider, offering tailor-made services to operators and owners of Satellite missions with the very highest requirements for reliability, availability and quality.

KSAT supports a large range of missions including; INDEX, CHAMP, DART, COREOLIS, GRAVITY, EO-1, COBE, TERRA AM-1 etc.
