Snow mapping

Using MODIS instruments together with SAR imagery KSAT has together with partners developed a method for detecting snow covered areas. The tool is being used by hydro electric companies in Norway and Sweden as an introduction to the market, however will be fully operational within all of KSAT’s coverage area by 2007.
