Prime Ministers visit to KSAT

The Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg, the Prime Minister of Finland Juha Sipilä and Secretary General Petteri Taalas of the World Meteorogical Organisation,WMO visited KSAT on Monday in relation to the ongoing Arctic Frontiers conference in Tromsø. The prominent guests got to hear about how KSAT contributes to the environmental protection of the Arctic through regular monitoring of oil and gas installations, vessel traffic and fisheries activities and also provides important information on ice conditions.   The guests were also briefed on the unique Pole to Pole Ground station Network with stations in the Arctic (Tromsø ,Svalbard) and Antarctica (Troll).
