The Ground Systems Architecture Workshop (GSAW2021) is the annual forum for the world’s space-related ground system experts to exchange solutions with other users, developers, vendors, and researchers. It’s a valuable arena that this year took place across two weeks, and with only a digital presence from everyone.

The theme was “Adapting Critical Operations” and the contributors were invited to share ideas, emerging technologies and roadmaps for the future with the ground system community.

– In its 25th year, GSAW once again offered an unmatched venue for discussion and collaboration focused on often overlooked space systems ground elements. KSAT was honoured to participate in multiple capacities throughout the event. Hopefully attendees found as much value engaging with industry experts such as KSAT Chief Technology Officer, John Heskett, as we did listening to keynotes and instructional session”, says Dan Adams, Director of Business Development at KSAT.

Demonstrating new user interface for KSATlite

KSAT Director of Operations, Stian Mækelæ, demonstrated in the video below the brand new KSATlite user portal where satellite owners are able to reliably communicate with the satellite, and download data whenever they need it, without long lead times or a big upfront investment.

KSATlite is our cost efficient, standardised service, providing reliable and secure on-demand access to our network of more than 30 antennas on 12 sites globally.

We have built a flexible scheduling and monitoring system based on modern RESTful based API´s that allows our customers to check resource availability, make or cancel reservations, upload ephemeris, monitor live pass metrics and retrieve post-pass reports.

– The system can be used by your operations central, providing real-time situational awareness -right out of the box” says Stian Mækelæ (pictured)

KSATlite is expanding rapidly, adding more than 34 new antennas on several new locations – this year! We are currently supporting more than 20 000 monthly passes, more than doubling the traffic within the last six months, while maintaining an average proficiency of more than 99.6 percent.
