The Norwegian Space Cluster, established in 2003, brings together companies, research institutions, startups, investors, and public entities to strengthen collaboration, drive innovation, and position Norway internationally. Today, more than 40 members represent the entire space value chain- from upstream technologies and launch services to Earth observation and advanced, data-driven solutions.
Among the members are Andøya Space, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, Vake, NTNU, Jordobservasjon AS, and several other research institutions and startups. Together, we are building a strong foundation for Norway’s future in space.
Why KSAT is joining
For KSAT, becoming part of the cluster was a natural step. We want to contribute actively to building a unified space ecosystem in Norway and create new opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
“The cluster offers valuable cross-sector connections, access to networks, and – importantly – opportunities to collaborate and innovate together. We strongly believe in the power of ‘Team Norway’ and know that we’re stronger when we act together on the global stage," says Maja-Stina Ekstedt, EVP Sustainability, Public Relations & Communications.
With decades of experience in ground services, data delivery, and operational support, KSAT brings solid expertise to the table. We look forward to working with both new and established players to explore what we can build together - and how Norway can take a leading position in the European space sector.

Anchored in our innovation strategy
Our membership is rooted in KSAT’s Innovation Management team and reflects our strategy to stay closely connected with new developments in the growing “New Space” segment. We have already participated in several cluster activities, including seminars and networking events, and look forward to continued engagement ahead.
The Norwegian Space Cluster works closely with NIFRO (the Norwegian Industry Forum for Space Activities), but with a clear innovation focus. While NIFRO targets government and policy, the cluster is all about collaboration, knowledge development, and new initiatives.
