KSAT will have two presentations as part of the Arctic Frontiers Science program in Thursday´s session "Technology needs - Shipping in the North".
Mari-Ann Moen will present new satellite sensors for improved sea ice monitoring , looking at radar technology, possibilities and limitations and will also give a glimpse of what the future has to offer.
Hans Eilif Larsen will show how satellite technology provided in Near-Real time can be used to find the open waters in the ice, supporting route planning and safer navigation for vessels. The recent project where KSAT supported the vessel Tor Viking through Northern Sea Route will be presented.
