KSAT and Synspective Expand Strategic Alliance to Enhance SAR Satellite Operations and Global Data Delivery

TOKYO - June 3, 2026 - Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT), a global provider of integrated mission services, and Synspective Inc., a provider of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite data and analytics solutions, today announced the expansion of the strategic alliance to support the acceleration of Synspective’s SAR satellite constellation and strengthen global Earth observation capabilities.

This announcement is an augmentation of the strategic alliance between the companies announced in October, 2019.

Under the expanded agreement, Synspective will continue to expand its leverage of KSATlite, KSAT’s fully automated Ground Segment-as-a-Service designed for small satellites, mega-constellations, and everything in between.

With enhanced ground network solutions, Synspective aims to improve mission operations, increase downlink opportunities, and accelerate the delivery of SAR data products to customers worldwide. The collaboration is designed to support Synspective’s growing constellation and enable reliable, low-latency access to critical geospatial information.

Synspective is building one of the most innovative SAR satellite constellations in the industry, and we are excited to support their continued growth with KSAT’s global infrastructure and operational expertise,” said Kenneth Olafsson, Head of KSAT Asia & Representative Director of KSAT Japan.

Reliable and scalable ground segment capabilities are essential as we expand our satellite operations and data services,” said Motoyuki Arai, CEO of Synspective. “By partnering with KSAT, we can continue to strengthen our operational resilience and deliver timely SAR insights to support disaster response, infrastructure monitoring, national security, and environmental analysis.”

As a powerful and cost-effective way to keep track of events on land or at sea, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites are already proving to be a breakthrough technology for disaster and risk management, environmental monitoring and protection, transportation and logistics, and security and intelligence.

In response to the growing demand for faster, more resilient access to satellite data, both companies plan to jointly develop solutions across various areas of advanced technology, particularly within sovereign capabilities. Utilization of Synspective data and exploration of maritime domain awareness solutions are key areas for further cooperation, by providing low-latency critical data to decision-makers.
